The Ministry of Education, in partnership,

The Ministry of Education, in partnership, with Sports with A Goal Africa (SWAGA) an organization that harnesses the power of sport to empower communities will collaborate in holding the inaugural International Day of Sport for Development and Peace. The event, which will take the form of a School Sports Day, will take place on 5th April 2014 at Mogotio Girls High School in Baringo County.  
It is expected that the event will culminate in a broader understanding of the work of the Ministry of Education and a greater appreciation for the potential of sports to improve general wellbeing.

The Resource center in Haskovo is organizing local competitions in football and dodgeball every week. During the month of March, the Resource center has held 4 competitions for children with intellectual disabilities – 2 in football (on the 12th and 26th of March), for the boys and 2 in dodgeball (5th and 19th of March), for the girls.

The first day of spring was celebrated in Tutrakan with a local sport competition, held on 21 March, 2014. More than 20 athletes from Tutrakan competed in football, for boys and dodgeball, for the girl teams in “Yordan Yovkov” secondary school. All the participating teams will also take part in the Regional Games in Razgrad, April 2014.

The Judo community marked the upcoming International Day of Sport for Development and Peace at the Tbilisi Grand Prix, last weekend. The IJF President, Mr. Marius Vizer, was joined by Georgian officials and representatives of Ukraine and Russia, USA and Iran, Arabic Countries and Israel. When Judo unites the world!

Le support de cet événement sera un tournoi de rugby qui mobilisera près de 150 jeunes du projet et se déroulera au stade régional avec un défilé des joueurs portant des pancartes sur lesquelles seront inscrits des message de paix. Le principal partenaire est la fédération Ivoirienne de rugby. Cet événement pourra être visible sur la page facebook de la fédération. L'événement est ouvert au public est les parents des enfants 

SFS Seed Cafe is a series of talk sessions where young leaders of "sport for social change" world are given opportunities to speak. The second version of the series will be held in Tokyo in late March, right before the students move on to the new season. While this event will be held mainly in Japanese, English speakers are more than welcome, as one of the speakers from Uganda will be making presentation in English, and we will provide consecutive translation accordingly.

Swimming for Peace: On 25th March 2014, Yavor Mitev came first in the swimming competition, organized in Sofia by Special Olympics in partnership with the municipality of Sofia and “Akademika” pool.  Three more athletes took part in the competition – Aleksandar Kenanov took the silver and Hrabar Natov, who finished third and Teodor Andonov won bronze medals in the contested competition.
